Grown Up Block Play

It's good to see blocks outside of the classroom...I saw them here.

I see the kids so engaged with block play - I'd like to settle in and build for an hour or so myself sometimes. Do you ever feel like that? Perhaps the block area should be included in classroom environments for children older than PreK...I'm thinking about how children in high school could benefit!

  2. I had the chance to observe at city and country in college (I went to NYU) and I loved the block rooms. I think you may have one of the only curriculums that integrates block play that far up in the grades!

I'd love to ask you a few questions if you send me an email! Thanks!

  3. Blocks are great. I agree, adults should enjoy them even when there are not children present to "give us an excuse"!

  4. My husband is interested in developing and increasing his spatial pathways so I have brought home some of the more complicated Haba blocks, (as well as Lego, of course) and he loves sitting and building - I think he finds it more relaxing than Suduko. Blocks are simply fabulous tools - regardless of age.

  5. I'm glad you all agree! I think I have to do it before this school year is up.
